Alex spent a year working in Sydney after graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture and prior to completing her Masters in London. After 9 years at London practice Michael Hopkins and Partners, where she became a registered Architect, Alex returned to Australia and joined COX in 2001. During that time, she has led teams as Project Architect, Associate, and Senior Associate on a variety of large-scale residential, commercial, education and hotel projects, from inception through documentation to site completion.
In 2017, Alex was made a Director of Cox Architecture due to her fantastic work with the practice and ongoing commitment and enthusiasm to evolving our cities through design excellence.
Alex has a specific interest in rail and public transport, which stems from their ability to improve the liveability of the city and potential to instigate positive development and regeneration of the regions benefitting from these projects. Alex’s passion for positive urbanism has promoted her to Lead Station Architect for 4 stations on a significant NSW infrastructure project, the largest of its kind in Australia. Her other projects include Station Lead for the Sydney Metro Network, part of an 8 station extension to the proposed Sydney Metro system and the master planning for the upgrade and redevelopment of both Wynyard and Redfern Stations in Sydney.
